ERG Council


The initial five (5) Employee Resource Groups became recognized by the university as part of a Presidential Administrative Innovation Fund (PAIF) initiative that was led by these groups in 2017 and 2018. The Council was formed in 2019 as governing body for the ERGs Employee Resource Group (ERGs) to provide a sustained infrastructure for current and future university-recognized ERGs. Currently, the Council is being led by the Talent Acquisition and Diversity (TAD) team in Harvard Human Resources (HHR).


The Council is a coalition, comprised of all university-recognized Harvard Employee Resource Groups, which serves as a change agent for a more inclusive and equitable institutional culture at Harvard Unversity; thereby advocating for sustainable inclusive excellence in academic and administrative policies and practices.


The ERG Council elevates the voices of historically underrepresented groups for Harvard University employees by identifying and advocating best practices in hiring, retention, and development towards sustainable inclusive excellence. Together, we endeavor to build a better workplace where everyone thrives.
